The mother of three of Elon Musk’s children, Grimes, revealed in a new book the X and Tesla CEO upset her by sending photos of her having a C-section to family and friends.

Musk revealed Saturday that he has a previously undisclosed third child with the singer, days after she accused him of preventing her from seeing their children.

The C-section story is the latest from writer Walter Isaacson’s new biography of Musk. He interviewed Grimes over the course of shadowing the SpaceX head honcho for three years.

The 32-year-old Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, said he sent it to her father and brothers and didn’t understand why the behavior upset her.

‘He was just clueless about why I’d be upset,’ Grimes told Isaacson in a recently published excerpt published by People Magazine.

In a post on X late Saturday, Musk confirmed his third child with Grimes, a son named Tau Techno Mechanicus, or Tau for short, after a book review in the New York Times first disclosed the child’s existence.

Musk, 52, was already known to share two children with the 35-year-old singer: three-year-old son X Æ A-12, who goes by ‘X’, and one-year-old daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, known affectionately as ‘Y’.

Tau’s age was not disclosed. The revelation came soon after Grimes pleaded with Musk, writing ‘let me see my son’ in now-deleted social media post — but it’s unclear now whether she was referring to Tau, or their older son X.

The Greek letter Tau, styled similar to the letter ‘T’, is derived from the Phoenician letter taw, which was written like the modern letter ‘X’, an apparent obsession of Musk’s. He has changed Twitter’s name to X since buying the social media platform last year.

Musk dated Boucher for about three years and the couple semi-split in March 2022, though they said at the time they remained on close terms.

The billionaire has had a total of 11 children, including his first-born with ex-wife Justine Wilson, who tragically died in infancy of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Musk welcomed twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis in November 2021, just weeks before Musk and Grimes had their second child via surrogate.

On Thursday, Grimes suggested in a since-deleted tweet that there was strife between her and Zilis, and that Musk was not allowing her to see her own son.

According to screenshots of the tweet – underneath a picture of Musk and the two children he shares with Zilis – Grimes wrote a message directed at Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson.

‘Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer,’ she wrote.

‘I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until this moment, despite the situation utterly ripping my family apart.’

Musk’s complicated personal life has involved three marriages and three divorces, including two of each with the same woman, and seven children from two long-term romances plus the twins with Zilis they conceived via in vitro fertilization.

Elon started dating Grimes in April 2018, and the eccentric couple captured headlines when they made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala the following month.

Amid a series of breakups and reconnections, the pair welcomed their first son ‘X AE A-XII’ in May 2020.

Their second child Exa Dark Sideræl, who goes by Y, was born via surrogate in December 2021.

Musk had his other children with his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson.

The tweet has since been deleted, but was written underneath a new image of Musk and the twins who he had with Zilis

He married Wilson in 2000. Their first son Nevada tragically passed away at 10 weeks in 2002, before the couple welcomed twins Griffin and Xavier in 2004.

Xavier – now 19 – has since transitioned to female. She is called Vivian and has dropped her father’s famous surname – after telling a court that she ‘no longer wishes to be related’ to him ‘in any way.’

Zilis, who was born in Ontario, Canada, met Musk through OpenAI, the artificial-intelligence research-and-deployment nonprofit Musk co-founded in 2015, Insider reported.

In 2015, Zilis was on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the venture-capital category and in 2017, joined Musk’s brain chip company Neuralink as the director of operations and special projects, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Musk and Zilis filed a petition in April last year to change the twins’ names in order to ‘have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name,’ according to the court documents.

The picture of Musk, Zilis and the twins – posted by Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson – was taken at Zilis’ house in Austin, Texas, according to an excerpt of the biography published in Time.

Isaacson’s much-anticipated memoir about the world’s richest man has been plugged as a deep-dive into the dark psychology of the Twitter tsar and his family.

Speaking ahead of the book’s release on Tuesday September 12, Isaacson said he believes the SpaceX founder has been ‘volatile his whole life’.

‘He has so many personalities, almost like multiple personalities,’ the 71-year-old author told MSNBC

‘He’ll go from being very giddy, or being in engineering mode where he can figure out the valve of a (SpaceX rocket) Raptor engine, and suddenly the clouds come.

Musk has frequent ‘demon-like outbursts’ but he can hardly even remember them once the red mist has faded, according to his biographer

‘And the amazing thing is after he’s gone dark and been demon-like and really tough on people, he’ll snap out of it.

‘And then I’ll ask him, what was that all about, and he hardly remembers it.

‘When you ask what it’s like dealing with Elon Musk… well there are many Elon Musks in this book.’

He previously said the term ‘demon mode’ was coined by Grimes.

Isaacson said chronicling Musk’s life became ‘a hell of a lot more of a rollercoaster ride’ after he bought Twitter and rebranded it as X – which is also when the darker side of his personality began to emerge more clearly in the public sphere.

The biography also reportedly includes gory details about a fight between Musk and his younger brother Kimbal.

Isaacson writes that Kimbal ‘tore off a hunk of flesh’ from his older brother’s hand as they wrestled on the floor of Zip2’s office where they worked together in the 1990s, according to Insider.

Isaacson observed Musk’s day-to-day life for two years, including during his Twitter takeover when he fired more than half the workforce

Kimbal is said to have launched the rabid attack because he thought Elon was about to punch him in the face – and it left the billionaire needing stitches and a tetanus jab in the emergency room.

Isaacson will be releasing his Elon exposé Tuesday, adding to the collection of big-name biographies he has previously penned on the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin and Henry Kissinger.

He spent years observing Musk go about his daily life and conducted interviews with him and members of his family to build a picture of his life.

His book chronicles Musk’s rise to fame through his SpaceX ventures, selling a million cars through Tesla, and becoming the richest man alive.
