‘Somebody’s just opened the door!’: Hilarious moment Channel 4 weather goes off air as presenter Liam Dutton is rudely interrupted mid-forecast

  • Channel 4 weather presenter Liam Dutton later laughed off the gaffe on Twitter

This is the hilarious moment a Channel 4 weather broadcast went off air as presenter Liam Dutton was interrupted mid-forecast.

Dutton appeared in his element during last night’s show as he gave a prediction of this morning’s frosty temperatures plummeting to -3C (26.6F).

But his attention was quickly swayed after an intruder appeared to come on to the set.

He said: ‘It’s going to be a cold night, a widespread frost, temperatures below freezing and a risk of a few – somebody’s just opened the door.’

A wide-eyed Dutton then appears to give a weary sigh as the segment is cut, with viewers left staring at an intermission screen.

Weather presenter are not immune from cringing interruptions on air, despite usually pre-recording their takes in the safety of studios.

In June last year, Good Morning Britain’s Laura Tobin was accosted by a mischievous Austrian weatherman live on air.

Laura, 40, was at the Nordkette mountain range in Innsbruck, Austria, to present the weather for the ITV programme live from the country’s largest nature park.

She joined 30 other weather presenters from 20 channels from around the world for the annual International Weather Summit.

However, when Laura attempted to perform her live segment and speak to hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard, she was repeatedly interrupted.

One Austrian weatherman tried to offer her a slice of cake before breaking into song, while another Polish weatherman also started to perform a tune earlier in the show.
