A WOMAN has revealed that she gave her council house transformation a mega makeover in just two weeks.

Whilst on a tight budget, Stacey A’Hearne was able to give her home a much needed overhaul, turning it from drab to fab, whilst on the cheap.

Posting on social media, the mum-of-two from South Wales explained: “My council house swap transformation so far!”

Stacey shared a variety of before and after pictures of the rooms in her council house, showing the big difference thanks to her DIY skills and cheap buys.

She noted: “I tried to get it done quickly as I had two babies as well as trying to decorate.

“I’m just doing the last bits now like new carpet and plastering the landing and passage.”

Stacey turned her dark kitchen into a bright, modern space, by using a glossy white vinyl on the cupboards and switching the black flooring to a stunning herringbone vinyl.

Not only this, but she also vinyl wrapped the counter tops – swapping out the black look for a marble effect.

She did a similar thing in her bathroom too, as she ditched the dark flooring to a grey herringbone style.

“Still a lot left to do.”

Stacey explained that she used cheap buys to kit out her home.

She noted that she got her tea and coffee jars from B&M for just £2.50 each, nabbed labels from Etsy and got the vinyl for her kitchen counters from Amazon.

In her bathroom, Stacey explained that she scrubbed her tiles and then used white grout which she nabbed from B&M.

She later explained: “It’s all about making it into your home!

“I did mine on a budget too.

“It takes a lot of patience and determination!”

Stacey’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @stacey.ahearne, has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed a staggering 136,300 views.

Social media users were left stunned at Stacey’s DIY home transformation and many took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “Your kitchen looks amazing. Did the council replace it for you or did you have to?”

To this, Stacey confirmed: “I used fablon over the work tops and cupboards.

“It was super cheap and easy!”

Another added: “Your house is lovely.”
