Mayor accused of sexually assaulting Teen Mom Farrah Abraham quits 'after she gave cops photos and video to back claim'

A MAYOR accused of sexually assaulting Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham and eight other women has quit.

A lawyer for the reality star said she has now handed over photos, video and audio relating to the alleged assault by Dominic Foppoli, the mayor of a California wine country town.

Police in Palm Beach, Florida, are investigating claims that Foppoli sexually assaulted Farrah, 29, in March when he was visiting the area.

Farrah’s attorney Spencer Kuvin told the San Francisco Chronicle that the police report documents a “very serious” allegation of sexual assault against Foppoli.

Kuvin said she had provided police with photographs, video and audio supporting her account though he would not reveal further details.

“This is not a ‘he said, she said’ situation. She has physical proof. We believe it is in felony territory.”

Foppoli has refused quit for a month after the previous sexual assault claims, which date back to 2002.

In a statement addressed to residents of the town of Windsor announcing he was standing down, the 39-year-old Foppoli continued to deny the women's claims

“It is with a heavy heart that I am resigning, effective today,” Foppoli wrote.

“I have always and will always maintain that I did not engage in any non-consensual sexual acts with any woman.”

He suggested that a new allegation made against him by a former reality TV star was driven by the San Francisco Chronicle's reporting on him.

"I have no doubt she is making these allegations in an attempt to leverage the situation to her advantage,” the statement said.

But the Chronicle said Abraham contacted police six days before it published its investigation detailing some of the other women's accusations, which include forced oral copulation and rape.

Farrah starred in the MTV reality shows 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom more than a decade ago.

She recently puzzled fans by wearing a goddess crown as she posed in a bikini.

Recently the star revisited her feud against Chrissy Teigen, 35, after slamming her "abusive commentary" towards Courtney Stodden, 26.
