Mystery as part of a human LEG is found on footpath used by schoolkids

COPS are investigating after part of a human leg was found on a footpath used by schoolchildren.

The grisly discovery was made this morning by a dog walker just yards from New Waltham Academy in Lincolnshire.

Police say they believe the body part is a "lower limb" and are now probing the mystery.

It was found at around 6.45am on an old railway line with a cordon now in place on the footpath, Grimsby Live reports.

Officers are now urging members of the public to avoid the area as they carry out their investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Nicholson of Humberside Police said: “Officers are currently on the path near to the old railway track at Louth Road, New Waltham.

“A report was received at around 6.45am today, Thursday 25 April, of a discovery of what was believed to be a human body part.

“We are in the very early stages of the investigation however it is suspected to be a lower limb.

“A cordon is in place and people are asked to please avoid the area and allow officers to carry out enquiries as part of the investigation."
