Rishi Sunak goes ice skating with his daughter… but manages to stay on his feet after taking a tumble last time
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak showed off his ice skating skills today as he took his daughter for a spin around the rink.
Mr Sunak was spotted enjoying a day out at the new rink at Battersea Power Station in south London. He was all smiles as he and his daughter held hands and took laps around the ice.
It appears that ice skating may have become a festive season tradition for the Sunak family.
Last year, while he was Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Sunak took his daughter skating at the Natural History Museum in London.
But he lost his balance on the ice and took a heavy tumble, landing on top of his daughter. Mr Sunak then got back on his skates and took selfies with onlookers.

Mr Sunak and his daughter went skating today at Glide at Battersea Power station, which opened on November 10 this year and touts itself as being ‘London’s only riverside ice rink’.
The public can book tickets to skate the rink, which features three interconnecting rinks surrounded by twinkling lights and a 30ft Christmas tree, until January 4.
The rink has been visited by several high profile figures and celebrities, include David and Victoria Beckham’s son Romeo, Made in Chelsea star Cheska Hull, influencer Victoria Brown and husbands Ollie and Gareth Locke.
Today’s ice skating outing comes just two weeks after Mr Sunak and his family as they lit candles in Downing Street to mark Diwali.

After starting the Diwali celebrations at Downing Street, the family travelled to Mr Sunak’s birth place Southampton, where they prayed at the Usha at the Vedic Society Hindu Temple.
They were joined by Mr Sunak’s parents Yashvir and Usha as well as by hundreds of worshippers who filed into the temple.
Before lighting the candles with his family, the Prime Minister and Akshata met India’s external affairs minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and his wife Kyoko.

Diwali is a national holiday across India, which is celebrated by socialising and exchanging gifts with family and friends by millions around the world.
Many light earthen oil lamps or candles, and fireworks are set off as part of the celebrations before having a special prayer in the evening dedicated to the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, who is believed to bring luck and prosperity.
