POLICE are hunting a suspected sex attacker who pinned a woman down and attempted to rape her at a busy station.
The victim was followed by a man who then pushed her to the ground in a stairway.
She screamed for help – causing the suspect to flee when a tram arrived at Winson Green Metro station in Birmingham.
The victim then left the station and approached a woman nearby for help following the broad daylight horror.
British Transport Police confirmed the woman required hospital treatment for a knee injury.
They have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to after the attack on October 10 at around 2pm.

Police are also hoping to identify the woman who helped the victim and have urged her to come forward.
Detective Inspector Ray Ascott said: “This is a shocking and incredibly brazen attack and we are working tirelessly to identify and locate who is responsible.
“I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the images to get in touch with us as soon as possible as we believe he may be able to assist with our enquiries.
“The victim is being supported by officers and I would also like to reassure the local community that there will be extra reassurance patrols in the coming days in the area.”
