Denise Welch quipped she hoped Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be offended by her role as the late Queen Elizabeth II in Diana: The Musical.
The Loose Women star, 65, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk on the red carpet at The Sun’s Who Cares Wins Awards 2023.
She will enter the spotlight as Queen Elizabeth II alongside other well-known thespians in Diana: The Musical set to debut in December in London.
Denise said: “I’m doing a one-night only concert performance for Diana The Musical. I’m playing the Queen.
“What the royals will make of this I have no idea. It’s very referential towards Diana and I love Diana. Of course, I’m a huge advocate for Harry and Meghan.”
The ITV star, who admits she is a massive supporter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is still unsure of the now Hollywood couple will be portrayed in the play.
She added: “Harry and Meghan I love all day long. I hope they don’t take offense when it comes to their remit.”
