EXCLUSIVE: ‘Wonderful’ Alex Scott already has the seal of approval from secret girlfriend Jess Glynne’s parents: ‘They are delighted she’s found love’
The family of Alex Scott’s new girlfriend Jess Glynne say they have already met the BBC football host – and they are delighted that the two have ‘found love’, MailOnline can reveal.
The ex-England and Arsenal footballer, 38, has been quietly seeing the superstar singer, 33, for the past two months.
Alex and Jess started their relationship over the summer and sources close to Jess’s family say the relationship is ‘serious’.
A family source told MailOnline: ‘Jess’s parents have always supported her throughout her life and are delighted that she’s found love with Alex.
‘They’ve met Alex and think she’s wonderful. But they realise that she’s quite a high-profile figure and are reluctant to speak too much about her and their daughter.’

The source added: ‘Alex and Jess have been careful about rushing things but the fact that Alex has already met her parents shows you how serious they are about each other. They are very happy together.’
Jess’s parents live in a smart home in north London.
Her father Laurence helped establish and is a sales consultant with fashionable London estate agents, LDG which deals with properties in some of the capital’s most upmarket areas. Her mother Alexandra was previously a director of the company.
Alex and Jess are said to be ‘really happy’ to ‘officially be an item’ and were pictured embracing during a coffee date in London recently.
The former Arsenal player smiled as she shared a warm hug with Jess, who cut a casual figure in an oversized hoodie and dark jeans on their low-key outing.
The duo both attended the premiere of David Beckham‘s Netflix documentary on Tuesday night but didn’t pose for a photo together.
Alex and Jess sat next to each other during day two of Wimbledon back in July and in August they were pictured enjoying a drink at the pub.
Alex hasn’t publicly confirmed if she is currently in a relationship with anyone at the moment.

Back in March, the footballer said she was ‘struggling’ to look for a partner and even took advice from Jamie Redknapp in the hope of finding her perfect match.
She explained she was ‘open’ to getting to know both men and women and ‘never closes herself off’ when it comes to dating.
After ‘struggling’ with some dating apps, Alex said her pal and former footballer Jamie told her about the app Raya, which is commonly used by celebrities.
Speaking about her dating life, she told Grazia magazine: ‘Its really hard [to find someone] cause people have a load of preconceptions. I struggle with apps.

‘For me, it’s all about connection that instant connection with someone and conversation and I’m like ‘Oh wow.’
‘I remember Jamie Redknapp telling me ‘There’s a dating app Raya…’ So I was on it but I was to scared to connect with anyone.’
Alex also admitted she would ‘love’ to have children as she spoke about turning 40 in two years time.
The TV presenter admitted she wasn’t ready to have kids in the past but would have children by herself if she felt it was the right time.
The former Lioness previously spoke about her romance with teammate Kelly Smith in her memoir.
Alex said her fellow athlete was her ‘first love’ as she spoke of the ‘heartbreak’ that followed when they split.
Following their split, Kelly went on to marry DeAnna Dobosz in 2016, with whom she has two children.
Alex largely remained tight-lipped about her relationships in the past, though she was rumoured to be in relationship with Coronation Street’s Sam Robertson in 2020.
Meanwhile, Jess previously spoke about ‘not putting a label’ on her sexuality in an 2015 interview with The Daily Star.
She said: ‘I’ve only ever been with one girl in my life and that’s the girl from my album [2015’s I Cry When I Laugh]
‘I’m never going to put a label on my sexuality and people should never feel uncomfortable about who they love’.

Jess said her debut album was inspired about her relationship with a girl.
She said during an interview with The Independent: ‘The songs on this album are about a girl. I would never lie about a situation I’ve been in.
‘I feel like with the album I’m putting my cards out on the table.
‘I wouldn’t want it to be misconstrued and the fact of the matter is those songs are about a girl. I was heartbroken about a girl, it wasn’t a guy.’
