Jenny Ryan to channel The Vixen in a very different role away from The Chase

Quizzer Jenny Ryan won’t be leaving her famous characteristics from The Chase behind as she takes to the stage to portray the Wicked Queen.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the multi-talented star revealed she is looking forward to playing the villain in iconic pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs this festive season.

Jenny teased that fans may recognise some elements of her character, as she will be channeling The Vixen – her persona from the ITV gameshow.

The star divulged ahead of starring in the Darlington Hippodrome’s 2023 pantomime: “I think playing the villain is always great fun.

“You’ve got a license to ramp everything up, go right over the top, so that’s really what I’ve got to get my head into, that space.

“But there’s got to be a little bit of The Vixen in there, she’s the fierce, scary one, so she could have a little bit of input in how we play the Wicked Queen.

“She’s definitely going to help out, but I’m playing a royal so there’s going to be even more regal imperiousness about the character I’m playing.”

Jenny went on to share that she never thought she would get a chance to play a queen, after growing up “a working class lass from Bolton”.

She admitted: “It’s taking a bit of inspiration from lots of people.

“But it’s not something I ever thought would happen – a working class lass from Bolton being a queen, a proper queen with a crown, not just a, you know, we’re all queens-queen!

“So it’s an exciting career development,” The Chaser gushed.

Despite her delight over being able to explore her acting and performing talents, Jenny has no plans to give up her seat on The Chase.

She explained to Express.co.uk that The Chase host Bradley Walsh inspires her in how he juggles his multifaceted career in showbiz.

Jenny shared: “I mean, I would love to do more of the performing side of things, maybe something in the West End, or a bit of other acting, TV or something.

“But I don’t think The Chase is something that I’d ever really want to give up. I look at how Brad, Bradley Walsh, manages his career, he manages to do a bit of everything.

“He still loves The Chase as much as he did at the beginning, it’s the last thing I think that he would want to give up as well.”
