Amy Price’s memoir The Last Word leaves no stone unturned when it comes to her daughter Katie.
The 71-year-old discusses everything from Katie being admitted to rehab to her many surgical procedures, as she vows to set the record straight on any untruths about the former glamour model.
But one subject in particular that has shocked fans is 45-year-old Katie’s love life, as Amy shares her true feelings on her daughter’s exes.
Amy, who recently underwent a life-saving transplant after being diagnosed with terminal idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, slams most of the men Katie has been with in her explosive book.
However, Amy – who is grandmother to Harvey, 21, Junior, 18, Princess, 16, Jett, 10, Bunny, nine, and Albert, two – now says the topic of Katie’s romantic relationships is something they no longer discuss.
“When it comes to men, she’s made some very bad choices,” she tells us. “In fact, we’re now at the stage where we don’t talk about the men in her life. To us, it’s so boring.”
It’s no secret that Katie’s love life has had its twists and turns, as the star has been engaged eight times and married three times.
In 2005, Katie wed singer Peter Andre after their love blossomed in the I’m A Celeb jungle, but when Peter and Katie filed for divorce in 2009, Katie was devastated.
In the same year, Katie and cage fighter Alex Reid met in July and after a Vegas wedding in 2010 they divorced 11 months later.
Trying to heal her heartbreak, Katie, who is now in an on/off relationship with Carl Woods, then met her third husband Kieran Hayler, a former stripper, on Blackberry Messenger in 2012. Following his cheating and sex addiction, their divorce was finalised in 2021.
And her mum Amy is certainly not holding back any punches now when it comes to her string of former flames.
“They’re all clones of each other,” she laughs when we ask why she doesn’t think Katie has found The One yet.
“We, as a family, say to her, ‘When are you going to stop going for good looking, young, pretty boys and go for a proper man instead?’ In some ways she’s better off being single and maybe having someone to take her out every now and then.”
Growing up though, Katie wasn’t interested in boys and instead loved to spend time outdoors with her animals.
“She was very shy and didn’t really say much, to be honest, but she was into her horses,” Amy claims. “She really wasn’t interested in boys until about 15 or 16. It was only as she got older when the troubles with boys started.
“When she was younger, she actually wanted to be a policewoman or a paramedic or a nurse.”
The Last Word by Amy Price (£20, HQ) is out now. Amy is donating all royalties and proceeds from The Last Word to charity Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital, and St Barnabas House Hospice, Worthing.
