Sir Michael Gambon: Legendary actor dead aged 82
Kyle McLaughlin has taken Instagram to pay tribute to his late Twin Peaks co-star Piper Laurie. who died on Saturday aged 91.
Alongside a series of photos from their time on the quirky TV show, Kyle shared that it is never easy losing a member of the “Twin Peaks family.”
“It’s never easy losing a member of the Twin Peaks family, & the passing of #PiperLaurie is no different,” Kyle began.
“She was such a caring presence & incredible force on screen. The vivacious energy she brought to Catherine will live on forever,” he added.
“Sending love to her family, friends, & fans,” Kyle concluded his post.

Piper played Catherine Martell, a businesswoman and husband of Pete Martell (Jack Nance) and sister-in-law of Josie (Joan Chen) on Twin Peaks.
She earned a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in 1990, and one for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1991 for her work on the show which aired on ABC for only two seasons.
She chose not to return for the Showtime reboot in 2017.

Originally from Detroit, Piper moved to Hollywood and signed a contract with Universal Studios in 1949.
After a few years, she grew frustrated with the roles Hollywood was offering her, Piper moved to New York in order to find work on Broadway and TV.
However, her time in NYC would not last.
She was ultimately lured back and landed the role of Paul Newman’s girlfriend in The Hustler, which would also earn her an Oscar nomination.

Piper earned a second nomination for her role as mother Margaret White in the 1976 horror classic Carrie.
A third nomination would follow years later for playing Mrs. Norman in Children of a Lesser God.
Piper’s family announced that the iconic actress had died from old age. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Grace.
