A week of dad
I’ve had a great week on “dad duty” with the kids. Recently I’ve been so busy with work, which I love, but I also enjoy just being a dad.
From running errands, to cooking and cleaning, or taking the kids to school, it’s those moments that create the best memories and make you realise that my other work isn’t hard at all. Lol.
One special moment we’re all looking forward to is Theo’s birthday on 22 November. I can’t believe he’s turning seven! I think this is the cutest age and he’s becoming such a character. When I see him react to things, it reminds me of when I was six.
Emily, as always, is being Wonder Mum when it comes to organising stuff. I feel I’m a good dad but when I look at her, I could really up my game.
Christmas coming early
Is it just me or does Christmas arrive earlier and earlier every year? Millie is already playing themed songs! As soon as the clocks go back and the nights get darker, we’re all just automatically ready for Christmas.
I also love when festive adverts pop up on TV – especially the John Lewis one. Although I’m loving the Asda one with Michael Bublé. He really is the modern prince of Christmas!
Comfort eating
A recent survey revealed some of Britain’s top comfort food and drinks, with things like a cup of tea, shepherd’s pie and apple crumble topping the list.
I can totally understand that – people just want something hearty and warm when it gets colder. I love making homemade curries and stews at this time of year – a good meal that keeps you satisfied.
Jungle memories
Jill Scott and I teamed up for the new series of A League Of Their Own, and she had a go at singing Mysterious Girl. I actually think she knows the rap better than I do!
We had great fun filming together and even shared some I’m A Celeb stories too. It’s funny because unless you’ve been in the jungle, it’s hard t o describe what the experience is like.
I’m pretty excited to watch this year’s series – I tune in every year when possible – especially as they’re heading back to Australia. It’s back to its authentic best.
