With December now officially here and the countdown to Christmas well and truly on, Britain’s biggest family, the Radfords, have kicked things off in style with a lavish festive dinner to feed all 26 members of the family.
Taking to Instagram to document the mammoth sized meal, the family shared a photo of every member of the family settled around a large table, including the two most recent additions to the family, grandchildren Chester Bleu, one, and Elodie Jade, three months.
In the festive themed snap, the table could be seen beautifully decorated with plenty of Christmas crackers and a Christmas themed tablecloth as the family teased at what their fans could expect on the big day later this year.
Crucially however, the family also used the occasion to share a very special announcement with their fans – their return to our screens with a festive themed special for 2023!
In a caption alongside the photo, proud parents Noel and Sue wrote: “ ’22 Kids and Counting at Christmas' will be on Channel 5 at 8pm on Sunday the 17th of December!”
In the upcoming Christmas special, Sue and Noel with have their hands full with a house full of children as they embark on their usual spectacular yuletide celebration – but a teaser ahead of the episode has revealed it may be more chaotic than usual with sibling rivalry at its peak.
A spokesperson for Channel 5 said: "The escalating tension between Luke and Chloe, who are currently not on speaking terms, has reached a point where it could potentially shatter the festive joy. Adding to the turmoil, son Daniel drops a bombshell, revealing his plans to move to Australia in the upcoming year, leaving Sue devastated.”
As well as the drama unfolding, viewers will be able to experience firsthand the logistics involved in planning such a huge celebration, with everything from tree decorating and cooking en masse to “colossal” trolleys of treats all being explored on the show.
But it looks as though Christmas may be in jeopardy this year after Sue leaves the family home to seek solace at her mother's house as things become too much for her to handle.
For over a decade, the Radford family have been taking viewers on an intimate look inside their lives, with the family first rising to fame back in 2012 with 15 Kids and Counting.
Over the next ten years, subsequent updates showcased each new addition to the family as Sue continued to embrace motherhood by adding more and more children to her growing brood.
By 2018, the couple had welcomed 20 children, and by 2021 were the proud parents to 22 children in total, with a further 14 grandchildren, the youngest of which, Elodie Jade, arrived in September 2023.
