A CLEANING expert has revealed her top three ways to get spiders and other bugs out of the home.

As autumn rolls in, households are likely to see more and more spiders enter our homes, something most of us would like to avoid.


And fortunately, now you can as Chantel Mila shares her top tricks to keep them out.

Taking to social media, the cleaning whizz said: "Three easy hacks to keep bugs and spiders away from your home."

The first trick was simple, she mixed one cup of water with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

She then let the rosemary absorb into an oil and sprayed it around her windows and doors.

"Spiders hate the smell of rosemary, so it repels them from entering your home," said the cleaning whizz.

You can buy a packet of fresh rosemary for just 90p from Ocado.

Next, Chantel recommended pouring boiling hot water down your plugholes to kill off any fruit flies and any eggs they may have hatched in the drains.

Lastly, the cleaning pro took some orange essential oil and filled her mop bucket with it.

She then used the mixture across her wooden flooring as spiders also hate the scent of orange and any other citrus fruits.

However, it's important to note essential oils are not pet safe and need to be diluted.

Not only will it keep spiders away, it'll also keep your home smelling fresh.

You might have wondered why we tend to see an influx of spiders at the beginning of autumn.

It's due to their mating season starting early September and finishing mid-October.

During this time, male spiders come out of hiding to seek a female.

The clip posted to Chantel's TikTok account @mama_mila_ has gone viral with over 1.8million views and 160k likes.

People were quick to thank her for the timely tips.
