I live off-grid in a converted school bus and it's -2F outside, there's a surprising perk when it comes to cocktail hour | The Sun

LIVING on a converted school bus can have its pros and cons but one couple proved that even freezing cold temperatures have their advantages.

The pair, who had previously set up camp in the Canadian region of the Rockies, have been traveling around North America on their Skoolie.

In their video, Georgie and Will (@tophamsontour) showed their followers an unexpected perk of their unique lifestyle.

The British couple converted their Skoolie in just 10 days and after flying their dogs over from the UK they were able to begin their travels.

The duo is currently based in Alaska and showed off their snowy surroundings to viewers.

"Winter arrived," they captioned a clip showing their snow-covered bus with icicles coming from the roof.

They revealed that the temperature had plummeted to minus two degrees Fahrenheit.

From the warmth of their tiny home on wheels, Georgie prepared a cocktail hour with a gin and tonic.

Sticking her head out the bus door, she asked her husband: "Have you got any ice for the gin and tonic?"

Will told his wife not to worry as he broke off a large icicle from the school bus.

"Here you go," he said as he threw the foot-long piece of ice to his wife.

Despite the dramatically cold weather, the couple assured their followers that it was "very toasty in the bus" with their stove set-up.

In better conditions, the Tophams regularly enjoy home-cooked meals over an outdoor fire.

Their bus also includes a fully equipped kitchen as well as toilet and shower facilities and a queen size bed.

"There's plenty of storage underneath and a kit garage out back," Will explained.

"We used the original bus seat," he said as he gave viewers a virtual tour of the dining area.
