I tried M&S festive ‘picky bits’ – here's what you need to snap up now…and it's good news if you're a pie fan | The Sun

LET'S face it, no Christmas is complete without a table of picky bits to tuck into.

But with so many options available on the market, how do you know which ones are really worth the money? Well, luckily a food fan named Amy Astrid has decided to put the M&S range to the test so that you don't have to.

In a clip shared to TikTok (@amyastridd), she begins by taste testing the M&S prawn toast.

"This is interesting because normally when I've had prawn toast it's usually the bread on the bottom and the prawn on top but this looks more like a sandwich," she explains.

"And it comes with this sweet and sour dip which is very runny…"

After tucking in, she enthuses: "That is fantastic – the texture of that is brilliant….I'm going to give these a 4.5.

"They're really, really good but my personal preference would be those with the sweet chilli sauce, whereas they come with a sauce that tastes quite a lot like soy sauce, which I love, but it's not necessarily what I'd pick with these prawn toast."

The food fan then moves on to try M&S halloumi sticks.

"It comes with this sweet chilli dip which smells actually quite spicy…they feel quite crispy on the outside because of the breadcrumbs but they also feel gooey," she says.

After taking her first bite, she notes: "That dip is actually really punchy – very nice!"

Taking a bite of just the halloumi itself so she can make a fair judgement, Amy continues: "That is a very strong halloumi stick.

"I'm going to give it a 5/5…and I really didn't see that coming."

Next, Amy puts the high-street store's steak sandwiches to the test.

"These are sourdough crostini with caramelised onion, steak with mustard and crispy onions," she explains.

Trying them for the first time, she comments: "That is very good though.

"It's very onion-y, the steak is really good, the bread is crispy…I'm going to give these 4/5.

"They are stunning but because they're pre-made, they're never going to be a 5."

Lastly, Amy taste tests the pies, half of which are chicken, leek and bacon and the other half are beef and gravy.

Trying the beef, she says: "The pie has crusted off very well.

"I'm going to take the top off it…that looks sensational!

"There's such a good amount of filling in here…that is delicious.

"That is so flavourful I can't fault it….I wish I could have a life size one of these."

It wasn't long before the post garnered a whopping 46k views and several comments from foodies up and down the country.

"Can't wait to try this years," wrote one, followed by a love heart eye emoji.

Amy replied: "They’ve outdone themselves!"
