I’m a professional dog trainer – the top three breeds I’d never own, a certain type will ‘destroy your house and garden’ | The Sun

A CANINE expert has shared the three dog breeds he recommends avoiding.

The professional trainer explained that one kind is known to destroy your home.

In his video, the employee of Big Dog Fellas (@bigdogfellas) explained that he'd "never personally own" the breeds.

For his first type of dog, the Instagrammer revealed why he would not opt for a French Bulldog.

"[They] just have way too many health issues, I can’t remember the last time I went to the vet without seeing a French bulldog there," he said.

He added: "They’re also quite prone to displaying dominance with other dogs."

The experts at Bio Med Central revealed that the breed could have a higher risk of 20 common health disorders.

They cited "the typical shorter muzzle and flat head of French Bulldogs" as a major factor in the increased risk of breathing and skin conditions.

The second breed mentioned by the trainer was the Belgian Malinois.

He explained: "[They] just have way too much energy and if you can’t channel that energy in the right direction, they will destroy your house, your garden, and probably your whole life.

Experts at Animal Network referenced the breed's working nature when discussing its high energy.

They explained: "These dogs were meant to have a job, consequently, they have a significant amount of energy.

"Inadequate mental and physical stimulation will quickly see your Belgian Malinois becoming bored."

Finally, the dog trainer shared the reasons why he would never own a Chihuahua.

"Their temperament doesn’t mix too well with children, they can be quite noisy and prone to quite a few health issues," he said.

Professionals at Pet Helpful expanded on why the breed doesn't mix well with children.

"This breed will not tolerate rambunctious and carefree kids, children younger than the age of six will typically get bitten and growled at," they said.

The experts explained: "At that stage, they usually want to grab and pick up the little cute dog, unaware of how big its personality is and how fragile its bones are."
