I’m in my 50s – people expect me to wear baggy clothes but I’m happy to disappoint in my cut out tops | The Sun

IT can be difficult to use fashion to express your personality when you’re surrounded by people giving their opinions of what is deemed age appropriate.

However, one trendsetter has hit back at critics who try to dictate how women should dress in midlife.

Holly Pan (@hollyhpan) has garnered over 74,000 followers on TikTok where she shares outfit inspiration for every occasion.

She took to the social media platform to respond to the common expectation that women should embrace a dowdy look as they age.

She donned a basic black top and baggy brown cargo pants as she posed with her hair in a messy bun and no makeup.

“What people expect you to look like at 50,” read the text over the video.

She tugged on the bottom of her top as the phrase “black top” from Armani White’s hit song Billie Eilish repeated in the background.

Holly then swapped her dated outfit for statement pinstripe pants and a cut-out black halterneck top paired with a small pink handbag.

She looked glamorous with her hair in loose waves and bold lipstick as she stood in platform heels.

“Sorry to disappoint,” read the text over the video.
