IT'S part of the 'baby led weaning' process – where your child decides what they eat, and how much.
But one mum has left people stunned, and found herself mum-shamed, after showing how she gave her six-month-old a piece of STEAK to eat.
In the video on TikTok, Leah showed herself handing a piece of cooked steak to her little girl, as she sat in her highchair.
"My six-month-old trying steak for the first time," Leah wrote over the top, adding in brackets "baby led weaning".
The tot immediately grabbed the meat and started happily shoving it into her mouth.
She appeared to be sucking the juice off the meat, looking at it as she was chomping on it.

People were quick to weigh in on the clip, with one writing: "I did BLW with my kids and it was the best decision ever. We never did baby foods."
"My babe LOVES steak!" another added.
"Steak is a big hit. Sausage too," a third commented.

But others weren't convinced.
"Never seen anything quite so ridiculous…" one wrote.
"Baby lead weaning rule? Baby led? So the baby asked for this?"
"Too young for that s**t," another added.
"What's the point of feeding her something she can't eat?" a third questioned.
"Waste of food and an animal's life."
"This is not safe," someone else wrote.
"Neither is that corn," they added, referring to the corn on the cob on the highchair tray.
However someone hit back, writing: "Google baby led weaning.
"Perfectly safe and becoming all the more common.
"Look how she is giving a piece that she would not swallow on accident."

According to the NHS, "baby-led weaning means offering your baby only finger foods and letting them feed themselves from the start, rather than spoon-feeding them puréed or mashed foods".
"You can offer a range of small, finger-sized pieces of food," the organisation added on their website.
