OCTOBER is fast approaching, but chances are the chilly, rainy days won't be the only thing to soon be creeping in…

Many spiders search for shelter where they can hibernate during the winter – be it rocks, leaves…or your homes!

But if you've got a phobia of the eight-legged creepy crawlies then no fear, because a woman named Kate has shared her genius trick to get rid of them once and for all.

And all you need is a tub of 89p Vapour Rub.

Kate took to TikTok (@plant.based.kate) and explains: "If like me you're terrified of spiders – and it is the season for those big thick spiders to try and come into the house – get some Vapour Rub or Olbas oil and pop it on your windowsills and door frames.

"Spiders have little taste buds in their feet and they hate mint so when they taste the mint, they won't come in."
