A MUM has labelled Elf on the Shelf a "living hell" that she regrets every single year, and other parents can absolutely relate.

Along with mums and dads all over the world, Sian marked the 1st December with the arrival of her kids' Elf.





Those who partake in the tradition have to come up with sticky situations that the elf gets himself into on a daily basis.

And when December arrives every year, Sian remembers why she hates the elf so much.

"So here we have the worst decision I ever made in my life," she dramatically began her TikTok video.

"The dreaded elf.

Sian decided for the elf's arrival, she was just going to recreate what he'd done last year.

So she hopped onto the table to paint over the faded "I'm Back" from 2022, to start again this year.

I didn’t know how see-through my top was – my bra choice was mortifying

But things got off to a bad start when she fell off the table – as she raged "it might be solid oak, but it is not solid enough to hold a flipping whale.

"The legs went one way and the top went another the moment I got on.

"Talk about risking my life for a f**king elf."

Sian admitted that the wall looked "worse" where she'd painted over it, and said she should really paint the whole wall, but added "that's never gonna happen".

"There's now another f**king 20 odd days of this s**t," she continued.

"And I always bloody forget and go to bed.

"There's nothing worse than having to play with elves at 2am."

Sian concluded by saying that only two of her kids believe in the Elf on the Shelf, as her daughter had walked in on her setting up one night last year.

"And here we b**ody go!" Sian captioned her video.

The comments section was almost immediately filled with other parents praising Sian for her honesty about the elf.

"I felt this to my core," one wrote.

"Forgot to do ours until I seen this video," another admitted.

"This is so accurate," a third said.

"I hate the elf, wish I never started it!" someone else sighed.

As another wrote: "The elf p**ses me off too".

They fly back to the North Pole every evening to tell Santa if the child is naughty or nice, before flying back and hiding in a new spot for the children to find them the next morning.
