People are just realizing you can microwave Cup Noodles after major change and now they're even quicker to cook | The Sun

NOODLE fans have been raving about a recent change coming to Cup Noodles.

An update to the long-standing food item will make them even quicker to consume.

Nissin's Cup Noodles’ latest cup redesign means the instant noodles can be safely microwaved.

In 2024, the notable styrofoam cup will switch over to a paper design.

It will make the new packaging not only convenient to use in the microwave but also eco-friendly.

The brand's polystyrene cup was not suitable for the kitchen item.

Though many previously thought it could already be microwaved, that wasn't true.

TikTok user @giyohnly1 said in a video on the platform: "I unfortunately used to put cup noodles in the microwave back in the day when I was in college."

Another person commented: "Always put it in the microwave for five mins."

"First of all, how did y'all warm it up without the styrofoam melting?" a viewer asked.

To be more sustainable, the new cup will be made with 40% recycled fiber and the packaging will no longer require plastic wrap.

The styrofoam cup has been used since the product was first introduced in the United States in 1973.

For decades, it was recommended for users to pour boiling water into the noodles, cover them for three minutes, and then stir the contents together.

Now, the new microwavable cup will make sure that the quick meal becomes even quicker.

Instead of a series of steps, noodle lovers will only need two minutes and 15 seconds of microwaving before they can enjoy the dish.

They just simply need to add water and the hard part is over.

Nissin revealed in a press release that the recipe for the noodles and seasoning is not changing.

All of the regular flavors, like shrimp, beef, and chicken, will feature the new cup design when it rolls out in the new year.
