People are stunned my grandma is 102 because of her 'velvet' skin, her smoothing secret costs $5 from the grocery store | The Sun

A 102-year-old grandmother has revealed her secret for having incredibly smooth skin.

Her beauty hack costs just a few dollars and you can purchase it at the grocery store.

TikToker Sarah French (@sarahsfrench) shared a video of her grandmother's anti-aging tip, which garnered more than 5 million views.

The centenarian rocked in her chair and said that coconut oil moisturizer has kept her skin plump over the last century.

"That works," she confirmed. "It's just like velvet."

People in the comments section said they were going to run to the store to copy the grandma's beauty routine.

"Coconut oil now sold out everywhere I’m sure," one person said.

"I just blew out my knee running to the store," a second added.

"I refuse to believe this young woman is 102 years old. What a timeless true southern Belle," a third typed.

For those who want to try grandma's soft skin trick, coconut oil can be purchased at Walmart for $5.

Coconut oil can help moisturize dry skin and is helpful to people with conditions like eczema, Medical News Today said.

But putting coconut oil on your skin does more than moisturize it.

It can also reduce inflammation, promote wound healing, and has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties, the outlet reported.

Though coconut oil can carry many benefits, it might not be suitable for everyone.

People with oily skin might want to avoid it, Healthline noted, since it can lead to blackheads and block pores.

Those with sensitive skin might also want to be cautious about using coconut oil.

Healthline suggested that people should use a small amount at first to make sure it doesn't cause a reaction.
