Prince Harry fails miserably in football shootout on German MOTD… but their MP scores two in a row | The Sun

PRINCE Harry failed miserably in a football shootout live on TV yesterday as a German MP scored two in a row.

The Duke of Sussex appeared on the late-night footy show Das aktuelle Sportstudio, on German channel ZDF, in Mainz after he opened his Invictus Games.

Following the opening ceremony, the 38-year-old jumped on a helicopter and flew 135 miles to appear on the German version of Match of the Day to help promote the competition.

Harry was all smiles as he faced a goal wall challenge alongside Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and two other guests.

The royal outcast asked show host Katrin Müller-Hohenstein what would happen if he scored "zero", before TV presenter Sven Voss responded "you have to wear a German jersey".

Harry was told to go first, but looking puzzled said: "Why do I have to go first?"

Müller-Hohenstein replied "because you are Prince Harry" as the younger brother of Prince William asked the other guests if they would like to go before him.

Harry then stepped up to take three penalties and jokingly pointed to an off-screen cameraman to move out of the way.

And just like the Three Lions, Harry couldn't avoid more shootout heartache missing the targets three times in a row.

To add insult to injury, 63-year-old German minister Pistorius then calmly slotted home his first two attempts in the bottom right corner of the goal.

It comes after Harry compared himself to US President JFK and referred to Meghan's claim she has Nigerian descent as he opened the Invictus Games.

Taking the stage in Dusseldorf, he took a new riff on President Kennedy's famous speech in West Berlin in 1963 during the Cold War when he said 'Ich bin ein Berliner'.

Harry, instead told the packed audience "Ich bin ein Dusseldorfer" referring to the host city.

The Duke jetted to the Invictus Games without wife Meghan Markle who is set to arrived tomorrow.

And during his 10-minute address, Harry mentioned his wife only once when he celebrated her claim she had Nigerian descent.
