The discount giant shaved a whopping £9.15 off its extendable shoe rack and it's great for storage.

A savvy shopper spotted the absolute steal in their local store and posted it to social media.

They shared the post on the Facebook group B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More.

The post quickly received over a dozen likes and reactions from fellow bargain hunters who were equally as impressed at the price.

It included a screenshot of the item on the B&M website with its original £10 to £8.50 discount.

B&M describes the storage item as a "quality" item that offers a sturdy metal frame.

Its description also states that it "provides plenty of storage for your shoe collection".

The rack is approximately 62 to 114cm wide, 22cm deep and 35cm high, it also weighs around 1.13kg.

Unfortunately you won't be able to buy it online but it is available in stores.

Although do bear in mind that when prices are reduced by this much it's usually in order for stores to clear excess stock, so prices and stock will vary from store to store.

It's always best to phone ahead to your local shop to check what they have available to avoid disappointment.

You can find your nearest B&M store using the locator tool on the website.

It always pays to compare prices so you know you're getting the best deal, but you'll be hard pressed to find any shoe rack as cheap as this, with most retailing for £10 or above.

We found one at Lakeland for £27 and another at Dunelm for £16.

The next cheapest we spotted was at The Range for £10, and a similar style rack also on offer for £13 at Argos.

Prices can also vary day to day and by what deals are on at the time, plus remember you might pay for delivery if you're ordering online.

You can compare prices on platforms like Google Shopping.

A handy way to make sure you spot bargains like this in store is by using the B&M Scanner app.

The app lets you see if the item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop shelf.

Below we explain how it works, how you can get it and some of the best discounts you can snap up.

How does the B&M scanner work and how can I get it?

The barcode scanner in the app lets you see if the item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop shelf.

The B&M scanner is located on the B&M Stores mobile app, which can be downloaded for free on your smartphone.

Shoppers can download it on the App Store or Google Play.

Once you've got the app, click on the "scan" button at the bottom of your homepage.

This will then bring up the camera on your smartphone, which you'll need to use to scan barcodes.

When you've found a product you want to scan, simply point your smartphone camera toward its barcode.

The app will then automatically bring up the item's price – this is when you'll know if it is reduced or not.

Bargain hunters say some items come up as £1, 50p or even 10p through the app.

But of course, not all items will scan at a lower price – so don't be disappointed if the thing you're after isn't reduced.

Quite often, you'll need to have plenty of time on your hands to go around and scan a lot of items in store.

While the reductions can seem random, it's usually items that are seasonal or old stock.

Another thing to note is that the reductions do sometimes vary between stores.

This means that just because something is reduced in one B&M, prices vary from store to store depending on stock levels.

But if you do get lucky and find a bargain, the product should scan at that price at the till.

The scanner only works in stores and not online though.
