This £89 M&S jumpsuit and other retro buys are the key to an on-trend A/W wardrobe

It’s all about nostalgic prints, pops of colour, and a nod to the past this autumn. The retro revival is well and truly on the way with A/W ’23 runway shows like Miu Miu and Gucci showcasing 60s and 70s-inspired pieces. And the high street has followed suit with mustard yellows, feather-trimmed shirts, and chunky platform heels all over the stores.

So if you’re looking for some inspiration on how to incorporate this trend into your autumn wardrobe, OK!‘s fashion editor Lauren has styled her favourite pieces below in an amazing retro-themed shoot – including an £89 denim boilersuit of dreams from M&S.

Think pink

Jumpsuits were a 70s staple and are the key to building up your nostalgic A/W wardrobe. This geometric printed one from Phase Eight makes a statement all on its own but layered under this colour-block wool coat from White Stuff, you’ll definitely be standing out from the crowd (in the best way!)

Retro revival

Alongside more retro pieces, denim is also a major A/W trend. Combine the two trends in one with this £89 boilersuit from M&S that looks far more expensive than it actually is.

A sense of nostalgia

Although on the pricier side, this suit is something that will last you for years to come and definitely worth the investment. It’s a statement piece you can wear time and time again layered over rollnecks and shirts or on its own.

Back to the future

The retro trend is all about adding pops of colour to your looks and these purple trousers from L.K. Bennett are a great way to do this. Clash them with a mustard yellow top like we’ve done or tone it down by styling them with some neutrals.

Birds of a feather

Metallic boots and a feather-trimmed shirt will be perfect for the upcoming party season. Simply pair with a mini skirt and some chunky jewellery. Equally dress them down, with a denim midi like this fun, printed one from Max Mara.

Checkmate

Clashing different prints, or even the same print in this case, can look super stylish and fun. We paired this check shirt from M&S with different check-printed trousers from Nobody’s child. Add a layer with a knitted vest and crossbody bag- to break up the look.
