Forgotten Arsenal ace warns Kylian Mbappe against Real Madrid transfer and says ‘it’s better to be king of your village’ | The Sun

EX-ARSENAL star Samir Nasri has warned Kylian Mbappe against signing for Real Madrid.

The PSG star sees his contract expire at the French champions in the summer.

Mbappe was close to leaving prior to the start of the season after he informed the club he would not be signing a new deal as he plans to leave for free in 2024.

PSG tried to force him out amid interest from Al-Hilal and they accepted a world-record £259million bid for him.

But Mbappe turned down the transfer as he waits on his dream move to Real Madrid.

However, Nasri believes he should commit his future to PSG.

He told Le10sport: "Already two years ago, I said he was the best player in the world. I still think so.

"If he leaves, it will leave a hole, but with their budget they will be able to recruit other players, who will not be Mbappe, that is clear.

"He is from the Paris region. I, in his place, would stay at PSG instead of going to Madrid.

"I think it is better to be the king in your village."

Mbappe would have to compete with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior for the limelight at Real Madrid.

Nasri, 36, came through the ranks at Marseille before moving to Arsenal in 2008.

And he added: "If Marseille had been owned by Qatar when I was at the club, I would never have left."

Nasri departed Arsenal for Manchester City in 2011 after they were purchased by mega-rich owners and he went on to win two Premier League titles.

He later played for Sevilla, West Ham and Anderlecht before retiring two years ago.
