FORMER Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel was "shocked" after the Red Devils' 3-1 defeat against Arsenal.

The Danish legend was brutally honest admitting he had "no words" for United's manner yesterday and criticised Andre Onana after late goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus.

On a dramatic afternoon at the Emirates, Erik ten Hag's side had nothing to take home as the Gunners swept up all three points.

Marcus Rashford put United ahead but two minutes later Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard found the bottom corner to level the score.

Then Rice and Jesus' goals in stoppage time saw gave the North Londoners a vital win.

Schmeichel, 59, did not hold back from assessing £105m man Rice's goal.

He said: "I’ve got no words…I’m shocked.

"It’s a terrible way to lose a game. United defended so badly for the corner at the end.

"Declan Rice had so much time and the goalkeeper should save it."

United's summer signing£43m Andre Onana did manage to get a strong hand on Rice's shot but failed to stop to ball from netting the back of the goal.
