UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis was arrested for reportedly driving 136mph in a 50mph zone just days before headlining a main event in Sau Paulo, Brazil on Saturday. 

The 38-year-old Lewis was stopped while driving a red Lamborghini in his hometown of Houston, according to multiple reports.

Lewis allegedly passed several officers while weaving through traffic and making dangerous lane changes, according to police.

He has been charged with reckless driving, a misdemeanor, and was given was given a $100 personal recognizance bond before being released.

Lewis (27-11-0) ranks first in UFC heavyweight history with 22 knockouts, according to ESPN.

‘I like to knock people out,’ Lewis told The World Wide Leader. ‘I get a high off of it. It’s a great feeling. … It’s like the best feeling in the world.’ 

‘Derrick is super f***ing strong, and he hits so damn hard,’ Tony Johnson, ACA heavyweight champion, told ESPN. ‘Every time he hit me, you could hear it. It sounded like frickin’ bricks hitting each other.’ 

He is scheduled to fight Saturday against Jailton Almeida (19-2).

Lewis is due back in court on December 27 in Harris County, Texas.
