BBC Breakfast was thrown into chaos on Friday morning (November 24) when its hosts were rushed out of the building during an evacuation.

Viewers were left wondering what had happened when the show was dramatically pulled from air during a segment about concords and replaced with BBC News for several minutes without warning. Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were hosting the show but were forced to leave the studio abruptly.

Luckily, all seemed okay as they returned to the red sofa. Naga said: "You're returning to BBC Breakfast. Apologies, we had an evacuation in the building, but we are back now with you to keep you up to date with the latest in the news."

But viewers were clearly concerned because they headed over to X, formerly Twitter, to try and make sense of what had gone on. One asked: "What’s suddenly happened to #BBCBreakfast? We have @BBCNews on!?"

Another wrote: "Where has bbc breakfast gone?? Naga and team?? What is this takeover, you were just in the middle of a Concord segment!?"
