BBC Breakfast stars Ben Thompson and Sarah Campbell suffered a huge Strictly Come Dancing blunder live on air during the latest edition of the morning show.
Nigel Harman was forced to pull out of the BBC competition just hours before the quarter-final due to an injury while rehearsing his latest performance with professional partner Katya Jones and the heartbreaking news was discussed by Ben and Sarah during Sunday's (December 3) episode.
They revealed that none of the remaining couples will be eliminated this weekend due to Nigel's shock exit. Ben then said: "Really tough that you've got so far through the competition then you leave through an injury. So what, three couples left," before putting three fingers up on his hand.

Sarah agreed: "Yes I think so, it's all really getting down to the final the final moments," before Ben interjected: "And they are all really good." "They are all really good," Sarah added. However, fans of the show will know that there's in fact four couples still left in the competition.
Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell; Layton Williams and Nikita Zumin; Annabel Croft and Johanne Radeve and Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola are all in the running the left the Glittreball Trophy at the end of the series. They have all been given a free pass to the semi-final due to Nigel and Katya's departute.
Claudia Winkleman told viewers on Saturday (December 2) night: "On tomorrow night's show we'll be finding out which two dances our remaining couples will tackle in next week's semi final." Tess Daly added: "Our professional dancers will perform a spectacular group number inspired by My Fair Lady."

Nigel appeared on Saturday night's show and fought back tears about being forced to pull out of the competition. Addressing his early departure, an emotional Nigel said: "I was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some handsome men, and as I flew I was Peter Pan and as I landed I was in A&E. I've done something to my rib, it's quite painful and I'm a little bit high on painkillers but I'm having a lovely time."

"I've loved it and I'm loving it. It's too soon to say loved. This hasn't really sunk in, when I watched everyone come down the stairs, I was like 'this is real, I'm not part of this anymore' and that was quite sad." Glancing over at his pro partner, he continued: "I've been avoiding Katya all day because that makes it really real as well."
