BBC Strictly star Angela Rippon’s popularity ‘dwindling’ as pro predicts fate

Strictly: Angela Rippon performs her Paso Doble

Angela Rippon’s popularity is apparently “dwindling” according to former Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Brendan Cole.

The New Zealander spoke to Sky Bingo in an exclusive interview about the possibility of who will make the final and lift the Glitterball Trophy.

Speaking about Angela Rippon’s chances, Brendan said he “doesn’t think she’ll get there.”

“The Paso [Doble] she performed was a bit stiff. Previously I thought she could make it all the way, but it’s unlikely with the calibre of talent still in the competition,” he said.

He added: “After the last two weeks, it’s quite apparent that her [Angela] audience vote is possibly dwindling.”

Brendan Cole spent 15 seasons as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

Last weekend, Angela found herself in the dance off against British journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

This was the second time she found herself in the bottom two as the previous week she fought off Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas.

But once again this week, she narrowly avoided elimination and Krishnan was sent home.

However, many Strictly fans slammed the judges for their decisions and claimed that Angela “didn’t deserve” to stay in the competition.

Viewers noted that she “almost fell over” during her dance as she performed flexible moves and lashed out that the show is a “fix” after the judges chose to save her from elimination.

One person posted on X: “Sorry this is such a fix. How can you say ‘Angela, you literally almost fell over. Krishnan you were significantly better but I’m still gonna save Angela?’ This is such a fix. Never agreed with Shirley before wtf is going on?”

The BBC dance competition is heading to the iconic Blackpool ballroom this weekend.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on BBC One this Saturday.
