Brenda Edwards has announced she is making a major career move on ITV's Loose Women.

The panellist was being joined on Monday's show (October 3) by Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan and Janet Street-Porter. The foursome were discussing chasing dreams, after actress Reese Wetherspoon posted a video urging people not to wait around.

Head panellist Ruth revealed that she had wanted a career in television and had done whatever she could to make it in the industry. She had also joked that she had wanted to be behind the camera, working as an operator.

Coleen Nolan also explained her own aspirations, saying that she had began to become comfortable saying yes and no to certain events. She added that this was that she could feel she had lived a life well-lived.

Conversation then turned to Brenda, who admitted she had a huge announcement to make. She then confessed that she had been offered the chance to become a director for the West End run of the Hairspray musical that she had been starring in.

The audience cheered in celebration for the former X Factor star, who admitted that she could not believe she had the opportunity. "I'm very excited now; I had a bit of imposter syndrome when they offered it to me," she explained.

"I've played the role of Motormouth for like five years in this particular production and it was very overwhelming to be asked", Brenda explained. But she was determined to make it work for her, having found fame in the public eye.

"At the time, when they asked me I thought about it and, at the end of the day, I am a product of an open audition," she admitted. "So I suggested to them that I wanted to conduct open auditions to give opportunities and chances to people who might not necessarily have them".

Brenda went on to say that chasing dreams is part of her life's motto and she encouraged others to believe in themselves as she said: "It's not 'impossible', it's 'I'm possible'. The show is set to run next year, though no other information regarding the show was released.
