The genius behind ITV's much-loved comedy, Benidorm, has hinted at a possible revival of the show, five years after it was cancelled. Derren Litten, the creator, has teased that he's ready to pen new episodes, sparking excitement among fans.
Derren, 52, is the mastermind behind the hit show which ran for ten seasons and over 74 episodes for more than a decade. He's now suggested he's prepared to write the same number of episodes again, as he has plenty of ideas for what his beloved characters would do next.
Benidorm aired from 2007 until 2018, bagging numerous awards and nominations including NTAs and BAFTAs. It even inspired a spin-off stage show, Benidorm Live, which ran in 2018 and 2019.
The show was a ratings success, often attracting audiences close to eight million. The cast included Jake Canuso, Siobhan Finneran, Steve Pemberton and Johnny Vegas. When quizzed by fans about the possibility of new episodes, Derren confirmed there's a chance, causing a wave of excitement.

Benidorm had many guest stars during its 11-year run – including Su Pollard, Louie Spence, Shane Ritchie, The Krankies, and late EastEnders icon Wendy Richard. Dame Joan Collins also made waves by appearing in the show as the recurring character Crystal Hennessy-Vass.
Derren previously told the Mirror that he wrote a part for the now 90 year old actress after her sister Jackie, who passed away in 2015, aged 77, asked him to create a part for her. He said: "Jackie asked me, 'Why don't you put my sister in your show', so I did."
