EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Theo Hawthorne’s accomplice in Stacey revenge plot

EastEnders: Stacey tells Lily she is pregnant

EastEnders fans have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their theories that creepy Theo Hawthorne (played by William Ellis) is actually working with a well-known past character to exact “revenge” on Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).

As he was exposed as her stalker this week fans noticed he seemed to know quite a bit about the mum of three’s history which has led them to believe he’s not working alone.

They believe Stacey’s one time love rival Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) has been pulling his strings from prison.

A fan called @RyanTheSoapking broached the subject writing: “Do you agree with my theory that Ruby & Theo could be working together?

“Surely Theo can’t be that clever when it comes to Stacey’s backstory. The only person I can see working with Theo to get revenge on Stacey and the Slaters is Ruby.” (sic)

@mikepriestley13 wasn’t convinced, although he acknowledged that it would be a good plot point.

“Interesting take. In tonight’s episode he named all Stacey’s ex’s how does he know that when he’s only been in here life just a few months,” he said. “This would be a good twist but he’s a woman abuser I can’t see how ruby could form a decent friendship out of Theo? #EastEnders” (sic)

@KieranMatthewOD felt the same but took the theory a step further.

“Interesting theory about Ruby. I was surprised to see Theo so prominent in tonight’s episode, which suggests the storyline of his stalking is not now ‘done and dusted’ but could still take unexpected twists; he may continue to torment Stacey. Could Theo be Xmas corpse?” he queried.

However, a user with the handle @gsw1986 offered up a completely different theory which also involved a past character.

“I possibly think it’s Ryan as a way of looking to get Lilly back. This could follow on to Ryan coming back and maybe even being the Christmas body in the Vic which could also tie into Whitney leaving.”

Theo has spent months of stalking the mum of three, after becoming infatuated with her when she started selling saucy images online.

He first became a private client of hers before integrating himself into her family by offering free tutoring for pregnant daughter Lily (Lilia Turner).

After slowly getting his feet under the table he continued to terrorise her sending her creepy notes and gifts.

This week his deeds were finally exposed in scary scenes which saw him trap Stacey in her kitchen as Lily went into labour in the other room.

Although Stacey reported him to the police, they were unable to do anything and in Thursday’s episode he was seen attempting to rent a flat beside the new grandmother and her family so the storyline is definitely far from over.

EastEnders airs Monday-Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm.
