EastEnders star Shona McGarty’s mystery boyfriend revealed after she teased his identity | The Sun

EASTENDERS star Shona McGarty is dating an Irish musician, The Sun can exclusively reveal.

The actress, who shocked soap fans when she quit Enders last month,is in a relationship with David Bracken.

Tattooed David is one half of Irish guitar duo Blessed, who regularly perform gigs across their homeland and have more than 18,000 Instagram followers.

Shona, 31, has been teasing her mystery new boyfriend on social media for the past couple of weeks without revealing his identity.

But over the weekend the pair began leaving loved-up comments on each other's posts.

David referred to Shona as “My girl” in one comment after she left a fire emoji underneath his picture.

And he shared the exact same post regarding being in a happy place as the actress did last week.

The Sun has contacted a representative of Shona for comment.

Shona, who is also a talented singer, recently explained her decision to leave Walford and her character Whitney Dean behind after more than a decade.

"It wasn't an easy decision because I've made so many friends," she said.

"I've seen people come and go, and meanwhile, Whitney has been one of the longest-standing characters.

"I've had so much fun and done so many storylines, some of which have been sensitive, and I've been honoured to be trusted with such heavy stuff, year after year."

She added: "So, I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to my friends and family, but it was right decision for me as I want to do other things.

"After 15 years, I've had a pretty good run."

It appears fans won't have to wait long for Shona's on-screen return as we revealed she's been in talks over a turn on Dancing On Ice.
