Emmerdale viewers were left raging at the ITV soap's latest plot twist as it appears that Chas Dingle (played by Lucy Pargeter) and her estranged son Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) could end up in a complicated romance with a father and son.
Ever since Aaron returned to the village, he's been a far cry from his old self, instead wallowing in grief and self-pity and taking out his anger on his mum.
As a result of his lingering resentment over what he perceives to be Chas's role in sister Liv Flaherty's death, Aaron was enraged to discover his mum and vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) developing a friendship in the latest episode.
While Charles furiously defended Chas and even attempted to hit Aaron, the latter seemed to formulate a plan, in an episode which was marked as a "tribute" to late actor Steve Halliwell.
Later on, he cornered Charles's son Ethan Anderson (Emile John) and it was clear to viewers that Aaron was suddenly turning on the charm in a bid to get back at his mum and Charles.
The builder then invited Ethan, who has recently been struggling after losing his job at a law firm, into his home, and he continued to flirt up a storm.
But just as he turned around, a sly smile played out across Aaron's face, seemingly suggesting that the pair's new connection is all for his mum and Charles's benefit.
Infuriated by the scenes, viewers were left frustrated with Aaron's behaviour and shared their disgust at the idea of both Dingles potentially getting involved with a father and son in the coming episodes.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person posted: "#Emmerdale needs to get rid of Aaron. Pathetic character. Full of hate and violence. Always miserable."
"Ethan and Aaron no do not put them together either #Emmerdale," another viewer begged.
A third shared angrily: "Ethan, why would you trust that childish brat! #emmerdale."
"Eugh Ethan with Aaron, Ethan's dad with Aaron's mum and Aaron's mum's father in law with Ethan's granny #emmerdale," a fourth commented.
While another person added: "I really don’t like #Chas but her son #Aaron is a truly vile character now & makes my blood boil! #Emmerdale," followed by: "Oh Ethan don’t go there #Emmerdale stop this."
Elsewhere in the Dales, after fans were last week left in hysterics over Nicola King's "unrealistic" ploy to get major stars to attend the Christmas fair, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is in serious trouble as he was shown tied up to a chair in an abandoned warehouse.
In the background, Chloe Harris's (Jessie Elland) toxic dad Damon Harris (Robert Beck) arrived, an expression of pure thrill on his face as he gears up to torment the father of his grandson Reuben.
Mack, who has been struggling since Chloe took his son away from the village, has been drinking himself into a stupor and alienating wife Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) every day.
Sadly, that means Charity might not care enough anymore to send out a search party for her husband. Time will tell if Damon plans to remove Mack from his daughter's life forever.
Emmerdale continues weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV
