Ex-CITV star labels I’m A Celeb’s Nigel a ‘sweetheart’ but he won’t get her vote

Former CITV presenter Danielle Nicholls has labelled Nigel Farage a "sweetheart" but revealed she wouldn't go as far to vote for him.

The 44-year-old has been paying close attention to this year's series of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! where Nigel made his reality TV debut last week. And although fans have been left divided about Nigel's appearance on the show, Danielle revealed that she had already formed her own opinion of the former politician when they met an event.

But although the star thinks highly of Nigel, she's still unsure if he would receive a vote for her any time soon. Danielle spoke openly to Daily Star at the premiere of Netflix's The Psychopath Life Coach.

She said: "I've actually met Nigel Farage, I met him a couple of months back at the TRIC Awards and I'm not gonna lie, I do not agree with the guy's politics, let me just make that really clear. However, he was a sweetheart!

"He was very polite, he was very kind, he gave me a lot of time and he didn't need to. So I'm not gonna lie if I was in with him, I know he's alright, he's an alright guy you know.

"I don't agree with his politics, I don't! But the guy was a really nice guy!" The TV star added.

When asked if she would vote for him to remain on I'm A Celeb, Danielle said: "I don't think I would go that far. I'm a staunch Labour voter, I don't think I could go full-on Nigel Farage.

"But what I will say is, when you meet somebody and they go out their way to give you their time. I really think that speaks volumes."

The former CITV presenter also shared her thoughts on where she sees her career heading and confessed she's looking into reality TV. Speaking candidly she said: "Right now that seems like the next step for me. And I have had a few conversations about reality shows. And fingers crossed it will be a good move.

"The thing is they're super popular at the moment and everyone wants to get on a reality show. So at the moment it's tough but I can see that's probably the next step for me," she explained.
