Gogglebox fans reckon they’ve figured out why Daniel and Stephen quit | The Sun

GOGGLEBOX fans think we'll be seeing a lot more of Stephen and Daniel Lustig-Webb after they dramatically quit the show.

The couple announced they were departing Channel 4's juggernaut series ahead of the 22nd instalment tomorrow night.

But Stephen, 50, and Daniel, 43, also dropped a major hint that they'd be back on screens in the near future by saying they wanted to "explore other opportunities" after leaving the sofa.

The comment didn't go unnoticed and fans quickly shared their predictions on Instagram.

One person penned: "Maybe im a celebrity is calling…"

Another fan shared: "Bake off! Or another celebrity reality show?"

Daniel kicked off the clip and said: "Hi guys, you might have seen from our statement that we are not returning to Gogglebox this series."

Salon owner Stephen teased their return to screens, adding: "So we thought we would put out this little video just for the fans of the show to say thank you for your love abd support over the years."

"It's been an absolute ride and an absolute pleasure. But don't forget, Channel 4, 9 o'clock."

Stephen has filmed Gogglebox from the living room in his Brighton home since the very first series in 2013.

Sid Siddiqui, 75, is the only star left on the sofa that made their debut in the first series.

Stephen initially appeared alongside ex and friend Chris Ashby-Steed before they suffered a bitter falling out.

Gogglebox is set to return for its 22nd series tomorrow night.

Fellow sofa legends Jenny and Lee broke the news earlier this week when they took to Instagram to let the cat out the bag.
