GOGGLEBOX legend Julie Malone broke down in tears as she returned to social media.

The Channel 4 star is in mourning after death of her beloved dog Dave.


Julie, 60, has been a part of Gogglebox since the fourth series in 2014 and has been a staple of the show ever since.

But after the sad passing of her canine companion, she spoke in a video message to her followers on Instagram as she emotionally opened up to the camera.

The star looked close to tears as she wanted to thank her adoring and caring fans for the sweet tributes they sent her and the family.

She said: "Good morning everybody. I thought I'd come on and just say a great big thank you for all your messages, they do mean a lot.

"It makes me so proud that Dave touched so many people, yeah your messages have been amazing and we have got comfort from reading them all and reading how much Dave meant to you as much as he meant to us. It'll never be forgotten.

He was a big character and he gave us love and we loved him right until the very end. It wasn't in any pain. It was nice and peaceful.

Yes, so big thank you for all your comforting words. They really do mean a lot.

Breaking down in tears, she continued: " Enjoy your Friday. Enjoy Gogglebox.

This comes after she revealed the death of the family pooch with a previous announcement on social media.

On her Instagram, she posted a video of the beloved pooch sitting calmly outside her house onto her grid page on 18 October.

She captioned the clip: "RIP Dave xxx There are no words to describe you, or how much you meant to us.

"This was you on Sunday waiting for your Dad to come back and he had only gone out to the car x."

She added: "We are all going to miss you so much💔💔💔💔💔💔💔🐾🐾🐾🐾."

And the TV personality was flooded with comments from her fellow Gogglebox co-stars.

Izzi Warner wrote: "Awww rest in peace Dave 💔💔 sending you all lots of love xx."

Whilst Jenny and Lee's official account commented: "Totally gutted for you all RIP Dave 😢😢😢."

Georgia Bell said: "Sending you all so much love😣 he was such a beauty and a true entertainer❤️❤️❤️."

Meanwhile the Siddiqui family sent their condolences as they put: "Sending lots of love from all of us. 🐶 ❤️ xx."

And Daniel Lustig-webb gushed: "So sorry to hear that Julie . What a legend he was . Big hugs 🤗."
