Heres where the original Changing Rooms stars are now from prison to fraud

Changing Rooms: Anna labels Laurence’s advice ‘codswallop’

Changing Rooms returned to screens in 2021 with some new stars in a Channel 4 revival, but fans remember the original BBC series which saw a successful run for eight years.

But where are the original cast now? Express.co.uk has delved into what the famous faces have since been up to, and from prison stints to buying a zoo, the stars have gone on to lead eventful lives.

The design show built up a strong fanbase throughout the 90s, with interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen fronting the series.

The show saw homeowners handing over decorative powers to the team who redesigned their spaces, but it wasn’t always well-received.

Hosted in the original stint by Carol Smillie, stars like Anna Ryder Richardson, Andy Kane, Linda Barker and many more also featured, but where are they now?

Anna Ryder Richardson

Anna was among the favourite designers on the original Changing Rooms.

The former model went on to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2007, where she ended up being the sixth contestant to leave. She formed a close friendship with co-star and winner Christopher Biggins.

A year later, Anna decided to take the plunge by pursuing her dream of owning a zoo.

She purchased Manor House Wildlife park in Pembrokeshire for £1million and documented her journey on TV shows such as Chaos at the Zoo and Anna’s Welsh Zoo.

Unfortunately, Anna and her husband Colin MacDougall were charged with health and safety violations in 2012.

She later said the “stresses and strains” of running the zoo even resulted in her and Colin’s marriage breakdown.
