I’m a Celeb fans ‘gutted’ as seventh star eliminated ahead of final

With just one day left to go until I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! crowns the next monarch of the jungle, Josie Gibson had her hopes of taking home the crown dashed when they became the latest star to be eliminated.

The news will no doubt come as a crushing blow to the star, who was just hours away from seizing the crown before their hopes of becoming jungle royalty were brutally dashed.

As usual, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were the bearers of bad news, as they headed into camp on Sunday morning (Australia time) to reveal the lowest scoring campmates from the all important public vote – but in an unexpected twist it was revealed all four stars were at risk!

After a nerve wracking few minutes, it was finally revealed that Josie was the latest star to be eliminated from the show.

Following the announcement, fans were quick to way in on the situation, with many unable to process their sadness at the loss of their favourite star.

"I’m so so gutted for Josie. Incredible energy. So glad we’ve got to see her shine,” wrote one fan.

A second fan also commented, “I'm gutted for Josie! I wanted her to be the 1st person to take home the #bbuk & #ImACeleb crown.”

Before a third weighed in writing: “Josie was my win, not sure who should take it now, not Sam, Nigel has the people confused and not still figured out Tony.”

Meanwhile a fourth fan added: “Can’t believe Josie is out! Thought it would be between her and Sam to win it!”

The final exit before the show’s grand finale, came just hours after the four remaining celebrities had taken on a Bushtucker trial together, the iconic Celebrity Cyclone.

Josie Gibson, Sam Thompson, Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage were all put through their paces by the gruelling task, which saw each contestant don a cape and coloured hot pants to try and navigate through a simulated cyclone, complete with water cannons and giant balls thrown at their faces – as they attempted to take home the all important stars.

Ahead of the task, Tony seemed less than impressed by the situation as he admitted:“I reckon the world is close to coming to an end. I’ve got hot pants on and I’m going to jump on an inflatable toy with Nigel Farage.”

Later in the show, he also complained to the Bush Telegraph about one crucial detail of his outfit, as he lamented: “Really? A red cape. Knowing which football team I support. You’re supposed to get rewarded for getting this far. This isn’t a reward.”

Meanwhile Josie was at a loss about where to direct her vision to avoid catching an eyeful as she cheekily confessed: “I don’t know where to look.”

One contestant who couldn’t get enough of the challenge however was fan favourite Sam Thompson, who appeared to be completely in his element as he took on the tricky challenge with a bright and unwavering grin.

Speaking afterwards Sam even dubbed it the “Best thing I’ve ever done in my life,” before adding: “It was everything I could have dreamed of. It’s made my year.”

Following Josie’s departure, only three contestants remain, with one set to be crowned the newest member of jungle royalty during Sunday night’s show.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! concludes with the grand finale Sunday 10th December at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
