Im A Celebritys Ant McPartlin swipes at Dec as he celebrates birthday in camp

Ant McPartlin celebrated his 48th birthday yesterday (November 18) by welcoming the new I'm A Celeb contestants into camp and then tucking into cake.

The TV host was with pal Declan Donnelly all day as the celebs moved into the jungle camp. They later posted a video on Instagram with Dec handing over a birthday cake wearing a birthday hat and he joked: “He’s finally caught me up, two months younger than me. Now here he is, the same age as me, 29 today!”

Dec then claimed to have brought a cake all the way from the UK for Ant’s big day, with his co-host saying he hoped it was a fruitcake which is his favourite. But as he cut into the cake he revealed a chocolate interior, and Dec said: “However, I prefer chocolate cake haha. Everyone loves chocolate cake.”

Ant was not overly impressed with the chocolate mud cake and said: “We don’t like the outside, we can get rid of that. A lot of chocolate that, I’ll have a bit of just the sponge…and a happy birthday to me!”

A show source said the boys were working hard despite Ant’s big day and added: “It might be his birthday but there was no relaxing for Ant. The series is about to begin and he wants it to kick off in style.”

Speaking at the airport last week, Ant was excited for the ITV series to kick off. At the time he said: “I can’t wait for the show to begin, it’s a great cast. It’s a really strong line up.”

He also joked about being reunited with pal Dec after some time apart. He said: “it will be nice to see his tan lines. We will run towards each other on the beach with open arms.”

Campmate and former politician Nigel Farage has warned that he's going to be "impatient" if he gets too hungry. Speaking to The Sun, Nigel said: "If I've got a fault, well, sometimes I can get a bit impatient.

"I think that being short-tempered is something I'm prone to a little bit and I guess in there, food deprived, I'm going to have to learn to be patient with people even if they're goading me."
