Inside Gardeners' World star Adam Frost's life off-screen – from gruelling family health battles to grand country home | The Sun

ADAM Frost is best known for his role on Gardeners' World, where he gives viewers advice on how to tend to their greenery.

However, the presenter and landscape designer has recently started opening up about his life behind the scenes, where his family faced a tough health battle.

The BBC anchor, 53, was diagnosed with depression and burnout during lockdown when his wife ended up in hospital.

Sulina Frost was in a medical ward with sepsis for around three months, and Adam was devastated by his wife's condition.

One of his four children also ended up developing an eating disorder while struggling with her mum's illness.

He later said that he lost his love for gardening during that difficult time, and it began seeming like a "list of jobs" to him.

Now family has taken top priority for him, and he is not afraid to speak candidly about his difficulties during the pandemic.

He told the Times: "When your wife gets poorly and your family get poorly, it's a stark reminder that there are other things in life."

While Adam's garden is his pride and joy, it was even more important to him that his children had fun in the green space beside the stately historic farmhouse.

He has previously spoken to House Beautiful about wanting his kids to have a better childhood than he did, so it makes him happy to see them enjoying the outdoors and sporty activities.
