Josie Gibson gets bigger This Morning role as show confirms new hosts

I’m a Celeb: Josie Gibson gets emotional about leaving her son

Presenter Josie Gibson is reportedly set to receive a “50 per cent pay rise” for her role on This Morning following her jungle stint. Speaking to The Sun, a source stated: “Josie will get a new role on the show, and be bumped up to two days a week.”

The 38-year-old narrowly missed out on the final of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, with Nigel Farage, Tony Bellew and Sam Thompson in the final three.

Josie has worked on the show for years but throughout 2023 in particular, she’s been more of a regular host. After both Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby left the show this year, a rotation of several hosts have been fronting the show.

As well as Josie, Rochelle Humes, Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary and Rylan Clark have been stepping in this year to present the magazine show. This week, Phillip and Holly’s official replacements were reportedly confirmed as being Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard and 1990s television star Cat Deeley.

The decision is allegedly “all about chemistry” and Cat has proved popular with ITV viewers after appearing on This Morning in recent weeks. “Cat really impressed when she came in, and Ben is a consummate professional and hugely popular with the housewife demographic,” a source told The Sun.

“He’s an extremely safe pair of hands, has real gravitas, and doesn’t have a whiff of scandal around him — he’s purer than pure.”

They claimed: “Cat is the number one target to replace Holly, but negotiations are ongoing.

“Lots of people were considered, but ultimately it’s all about chemistry.”

According to the publication, they are set to be paid £550,00 each, which is £150,000 less than Phillip and Holly.

The source added: “Everyone is very excited, and the sense is that Ben and Cat will be a real boost to morale on the ground.”

However, it seems Josie is also benefiting from the reshuffle of the ITV programme.

Speaking during I’m A Celebrity, she expressed how much she loves her job and believes she has “made it” to where she wanted to be in her career.

She also detailed how she was given the role initially after stepping in as presenter when the main stars were absent.

Express.co.uk has contacted ITV for comment on the reports.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
