Killer Stephen's exit from Corrie confirmed as Todd Boyce lands next role

Time is most certainly running out for Stephen Reid in Coronation Street, as Todd Boyce’s next acting job has been confirmed.

The character took over the role as Weatherfield villain last September, after murdering Leo Thompkins.

Since then, Stephen has gone on to kill Leo’s dad Teddy, and a businessman called Rufus.

As the days tick by, Stephen continues to slip up, leaving the likes of Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and Tim (Joe Duttine) fully aware that he is bad news.

And it seems it won’t be long until the truth is revealed, as Todd Boyce has joined the cast of Mother Goose in a pantomime production at Derby Arena.

Todd will be portraying the role of Demon Vanity, prompting rumours to circulate that he will depart from the ITV soap soon, as it would certainly be difficult to juggle performing at the Derby Arena and filming in Manchester at the same time!

Things continue to fall apart for Stephen in the coming weeks, as the remains of Leo’s body will be found on the building site Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) recently acquired.

Scenes have also been filmed at a canal, with police and Corrie locals gathering to see another horrifying find pulled out. It comes as Tim tracks shifty Stephen to the canal, where viewers know he concealed Teddy’s body.

‘We are going to see him start taking risks,’ Todd Boyce told us. ‘As he gets more desperate, his life is starting to unravel and it is going to be interesting to see how he deals with the pressure

‘He is bound to start making mistakes and that could be his undoing.’

Elsewhere, Todd’s co-star, Chris Gascoyne, will also say goodbye to the cobbles soon, with the Peter Barlow actor joining a different pantomime production at the end of the year.

Mother Goose begins at Derby Arena on Friday, December 8.
