In a dramatic twist on Married At First Sight UK, reality star Luke Worley revealed a terrifying health scare that left him hospitalised.
It comes after Luke was removed from the marriage experiment for getting into a physical altercation with co-star Jordan after a tense time at the retreat.
At the retreat's dinner party, which Luke left early, Jordan and Erica told Luke's wife Jay about his comments about cheating.
Jay was understandably upset by the comments, which went on to cause a huge rift in their relationship. After a huge row, Luke was seen in tears before storming to Jordan's apartment and getting into a fight.
During an interview on a podcast hosted by The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Brook, Luke shared the knock-on effect the incident has had on his health. Contrary to what viewers were led to believe, he didn't simply retire to his room after the altercation; he was rushed to the hospital.
Luke confessed that his blood pressure had skyrocketed to the point of a potential stroke, all due to the relentless stress he faced on the show.
He says: "The dinner party was the next day and I got rushed to hospital. They made out that I had just gone to bed – but my blood pressure was in stroke territory. It didn't have that before I went on.
"I'm on tablets now because of the show, the stress from it has caused my blood pressure to be f****d. I'll need to be on tablets for the rest of my life now because of that. That's what the show has done to me!"
Despite being unceremoniously booted from the series, Luke remains in a relationship with Jay, the bride he was matched with on the show. Their journey has been filled with ups and downs, but it seems their bond has grown stronger through it all.
Last week, Luke posted a now-deleted message on social media saying 'Chat s**t get banged', despite being warned by Channel 4 bosses about his behaviour.
Luke hinted on social media that Jordan had upset him by making rude comments about Jay.
In a deleted comment, Luke wrote: "If you upset my wife you will know about it." He also said: "Tune in on Monday night to see me slap Jordan the p***y." He used a hashtag saying: "chat s**t get banged".
Channel 4 responded to Luke's comments by issuing a statement to the Mirror: "The wellbeing of cast and crew is our utmost priority at all times throughout production and beyond."
"We have a zero-tolerance policy towards violence and we take any behaviour of this nature very seriously. We took prompt action as soon as this incident occurred, and Luke was subsequently removed from the experiment. This will all be addressed in Monday's episode."
Channel 4 stated: "We do not condone any form of violence, or aggressive language, and have raised the matter with the cast member concerned."
