Nigel Farage in talks to join Im A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here

Nigel Farage reacts to ‘leaked documents’

Nigel Farage is reportedly set to join this year’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!

It’s not long until the hit ITV reality show returns to screens, and after last year’s controversial move to bring former Health Secretary Matt Hancock into the jungle, it seems the programme could be about to shock fans again.

According to The Sun, the former Brexit Party leader is in “advanced talks” with ITV over a deal potentially “worth up to £1million” to join the series.

A TV insider told the publication: “Nigel has been at the top of the wish-list for I’m A Celeb bosses for years.

“They’ve offered him a huge fee as they know he’ll drive up viewing figures. Ant and Dec will love this signing.

“Nigel’s the ultimate Marmite character and won’t hold back in camp discussions.”

Farage himself has addressed taking part in the series in the past.

Speaking last year on his GB News show, he announced: “I have been approached several times by I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and I’ve always ruled it out.

“I’ve never thought it would be a good thing to do. I thought it was all rather humiliating, frankly. But I suppose you can never ever say never.”

A spokesperson from ITV told Express.co.uk: “Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity are just speculation.”

Hancock made the final last year but ultimately ended up in third place, with Lioness Jill Scott crowned the winner.

Viewers were stunned as the MP, who stood down from his role as secretary for breaching his own lockdown rules, turned up in camp.

As well as Hancock, other former MPs on the show have included Nadine Dorries, Edwina Currie and Stanley Johnson.

While no official names have been confirmed yet, speculation over certain names has been rife.

From soap stars to former Prime Ministers, the speculated line-up this year is extremely varied.

A mix of potential contestants such as Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford, former Prime Minster Liz Truss and This Morning’s Josie Gibson have been causing a stir.
