Passion risk in EastEnders as Phil and Emma are drawn close after Kat showdown

Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) mum Emma (Patsy Kensit) heads back to Walford in EastEnders soon – and it looks like she’s about to cause trouble for Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).

Emma came back in to Lola’s life this year, after leaving her daughter when she was only three years old. The character departed shortly before Lola’s death but made her mark by secretly giving Lexi (Isabella Brown) her phone number.

Following a brief return for Lola’s funeral, Emma is back again next week after Jay learns that Lexi has been texting her.

During a chat with Jay, Emma says that Lexi has been messaging her for weeks and that she’s really worried about her.

Jay throws Emma out, but Callum (Tony Clay) suggests that it might be wise to listen to Emma, just in case Lexi is struggling after all.

While this is unfolding, Kat and Phil are at odds after Kat learns that Alfie (Shane Richie) and Phil have secretly been trying to help Tommy (Sonny Kendall) with his anger problems.

Not only that, but she will also have to deal with the fact Phil didn’t tell her about Alfie’s cancer scare news.

In the week, Phil tries to make amends with Kat, who has frozen him out.

After a pep talk with Sharon (Letitia Dean), Phil arrives at the cab office with chocolates for Kat, but his attempts to make up are unsuccessful.

In a state, Phil storms over to Peggy’s to be alone, but Emma barges in and demands a G&T.

It appears something occurs between the two characters as the next day, Phil sheepishly returns home after being out all night.

And over lunch, he promises to be straight with Kat from now on but when a coy Emma passes, he rushes off.

So, what’s happened?

And what will this do to Phil and Kat’s relationship?
